First of all I had a wonderful time on my vacation. We had 7 nights to relax and I did!!! This is my first experience in Mexico. I went because a lot of my friends have gone and claimed to have had a great time. They go back every year. Some families for a decade. So I thought I must see what our family is missing out on.
Not sure yet....... The beach was wonderful. The water was warm. The sand was amazing. The 1700 sq ft condo right on the beach was beautiful. The pools were awesome. The workout facilities were new. They had computers for their guests.
Things I am now grateful for.......
1.I do not live in a Shantee. My house does not consist of 4 garage doors tied together.
2.Police officers. I am thankful for a structured government. My kids do not have to witness police officers in a back of a truck with an assault rifle, pointed at some one's head. (true story)
3.Jobs. My kids do not have to make necklaces or sell Chiclets at the age of 9.
4. clean grocery stores. We bought most of our own food but ran out of little things here and there. The overall feeling in public was uncertain and unsafe.
5. Movie theatres....I know this is silly, but we never saw one. Most of the town is falling apart.(minus the new condos being built for Americans)
6.Shoes. I saw a lot of people without them. I am sure it was not their first choice.
7.I am thankful I do not have to beg for money on a daily basis.
8.Restaurants with 4 walls. A clean place to eat that was fresh water and follows health code requirements.
9.peace of mind
10. That I do not live in Mexico!!!!!!!
The best thing this vacation brought for my family is appreciation. My kids witnessed 250 miles away, that families live in squalor. They watched mothers, fathers children work hard walking up and down the beach selling anything they could. They saw kids working at the grocery store who were less than 10 years of age. They saw a school that looked condemned, that was open. They saw the difference in life between the locals and the people who visited. They saw the arrogance in some of the visitors and how they treated the locals. We had a chance to be generous, because we could. They understood why it was important to be kind. They knew they were happy to live our lives instead of theirs.
Tomorrow I will post beautiful pictures. I will post all the positives of our trip. I just felt all this needed to be said.

Remember Squiggy?

I love giving my babies a bath. Mostly I love the "smell" afterwards. They are always ready for bed. It's a good time of day. The girls decided to help me this time. I would say things sometimes get out of hand. But Brenlie loves the extra attention.
So I am drying off Kelsey... and I look in the tub. The girls are laughing. They have managed to find the longest piece of hair Brenlie has. And put it straight up on her head. The first thing that popped in my mind was "squiggy" from Lavern and Shirley. Too bad the girls have never watched that OLD show!!!
Oh well I laughed!!!

Then it turned into lets see how much soap we can put on her chin. Talk about a good sport.

Play time is over!! Thanks girls for all the fun:)

Like mother like daughter
Brie'el is a lot like me. I know she will not admit it yet, but she is. One thing we both love is nature shots. I can remember as a kid I would go on vacation and only take shots of what was around me. Never with who I was with. I never realized it til later in life. Brie'el has a love for the camera also. She does a better balance of what she takes pictures of. She takes a ton of family and friends.
I sort of remember her saying MOM!!! Where is the camera. The good one? I was busy and she must of worked it out. I inserted my memory card and found this....

These photos were taken in my back yard. We both have a fascination with clouds. I love it when I find picture on my camera. My kids are growing up so fast. They have become responsible young ladies and gentleman!!!

This is fun.....
This post is for anyone who has known me awhile. If you live or once lived in Dobson Ranch. Do you remember the Knight Family? Well if you do their oldest daughter graduated from high school this year. I look at these pictures and wonder where the time went. I was very good friends with their mother. I cried the day they moved. They left the hot horrid desert for Camus, Washington. It is beautiful. They have 5 lovely girls and 1 handsome boy.
Nadine sent me these pictures a few days ago.I had such a good time looking at them, I thought other friends of theirs would like to also.
Hillary will go to college next year at BYU. I believe Marine Biology( I hope I am right on that!!)

Both girls went to prom this year. I am sure they had a fabulous time!!!

I did not get a chance to catch up with Nadine. Between the both of us we are pretty busy. But it sounds like everyone is doing good. We did get a chance to visit them 3 years ago(time flies). Camus is the cutest little town. Their neighborhood was quaint. I miss the northwest in the summer!!!!!

Can you love shopping at 1 years of age?
Brenlie is adorable. I promised Brie'el I would take her to the mall. I took Brenlie with us. We found some amazing deals at Tilly's. They have a half off rack in the back of the store. Then everything that is red tagged is another 50% off. I scored!!!!! I love finding good deals:)
Then we went to Pac Sun. Brenlie is getting pretty tired of shopping at this point so I let her out of the stroller. She "runs" over to the necklaces. I can hear her coo.......
You would of thought these were made out of gold....

Notice the swim suit clutched in her left hand!!

Pretty scary..... Her favorite things are jewelry, shoes, and swim suits!!!
She flirted with all the employees and had a fun time. This girl is a hoot. I was not able to capture her excitement on my cell phone camera. (Although I am pretty impressed with the technology!!)
