Keigan and his Eagle Project

Keigan has been in scout since he was 8. He was the only troop member that was not a member of the church. Keigan loved scouts. He loved the leader and the boys. I will admit there were times when he thought it was all silly. There were times when he simply did not want to go. But in the end... He liked scouts and continued to be active in his troop.

As he got older, scout became less important. He had school, band and work. Friends and video games took up some of his free time. Then we moved. He was no longer comfortable with this troop and he stopped going. I was very sad. But I had to remember this was Keigan's life not mine. I can tell him what I think he should do, and hope he listens. Two years have passed.....

We moved again. I met a member of the church who reviewed Keigan's scouting record. He was totally amazed that Keigan had gotten so close, but never finished. Keigan turns 18 on December 21st. Not much time is left. Keigan spent the entire day putting together his Eagle paperwork. He turned it in and his project was accepted in one day!!!!

I am pretty proud of Keigan. I am happy to say that Keigan is on his way to getting his Eagle. Some times it is better to leave things alone.. this time it was. This group of scouts are amazing! They have gone out of their way(in the holidays) mind you to make sure this happens for my son.

Kindness is not something you see too often Especially to a complete stranger. This leader had never met Keigan before today. But he spent the day helping someone. This will not go unnoticed in the Wiles home!!!!

Wish us luck.... we have a lot of work to do over the next few weeks!

That is great that Keigan is on his way to getting his eagle. He is a great kid and you are a great mom to support him. We miss you guys! Have a Happy Thanksgiving!
